A young woman has made a complaint of rape against a man who she met in a bar. What follows is a series of interviews with the woman and suspect, as police try to unpick the different accounts.

Specialist legal case solicitor Aamer Rathore from Newgate Solicitor has appeared in the grand breaking Channel 4 programme – 24 Hours in Police Custody.

Aamer Rathor, of Newgate Solicitors, on Finchley High Road, appeared in the episode of 24 Hours in Police Custody which was shown at 9pm on Channel Four. The documentary followed Bedfordshire Police’s investigations into a young woman’s complaint of rape against a man she met in a bar.

A suspect is on the run from Bedfordshire Police’s specialist gun crime unit. He’s believed to be armed and dangerous.

In this episode special gun crime unit detectives are tracking down known suspect who is believed to be armed and dangerous. Aamer Rathor is there in the questioning to make sure the clients rights is respected and also all procedures followed through according to the law.

Juror invited cleared defendants for a drink

Jurors who cleared defendants under alleged class A drug charges celebrated with the men at the local pub– these men were mostly Albanian immigrants – after clearing them of running a cocaine ring allegedly across southern England.

The trial at Oxford Crown Court followed a two year specialist crime unit surveillance operation and it is estimated to have cost £1.9 million to run the surveillance operation on the alleged Albanian immigrants.

Some of the defendants, were accused of preparing Class A drugs at a property in the town of Didcot then selling it from other premises in the county, they spent 18 months in prison.

The defendants gave tribute to the jury who cleared them but criticised the police with a pint at the The Head of The River pub overlooking the Thames.

Police and prosecutors accepted the jury’s verdict but defended the decision to bring charges.

Jurors are not allowed to discuss an on-going trial with anyone but jurors are allowed to socialise with cleared defendants after a trial and there I no law banning that, unless details of the jury’s case or deliberations are disclosed.
